The Thames Barrier is one of the largest moveable flood barriers
in the world. It protects 125 square kilometres ofCentral London.
That's 1.25 million people, historic buildings including the Houses
of Parliament, offices, power supplies, tube lines and hospitals to
name a few.

Thames Barrier was designed and built and how it works. Also learn
more about the history and environment of the River Thames.
You can enjoy spectacular views of the Barrier from our family
friendly Café. We have a play area for children and plenty of
onsite parking.

Sunday only, all year round. 10.30 - 17.00 (last entry at
